Inspiration

Spent the weekend in San Francisco, where we attended the impressionism exhibit on display at the De Young. Highlights for me included an excellent Bonnard and two intense Rousseau pieces in the above mentioned show, finally seeing El Anatsui's work in person, and gazing at an ancient peruvian coat made out of feathers. Lisa enjoyed the Degas dancers and the Van Gogh flowers! We both loved the Monets and the Pisarros!!

It was good to see the sights and sounds of the city, catch up with old friends, and see some truly amazing art... i've come back home inspired and ready to paint.
